The Mysteries of Wesir
An intensive workshop
weekend with Her Holiness Hekatawy I
(Nisut Tamara Siuda, AUS)
Wesir,
great Osiris to the Classical world, god Who dies and becomes king of
the Otherworld. Great King of the Dead Wesir, Whose crook and flail
hold dominion over all, Whose powers include the hidden potential of
growth. Once a year, all who honor Wesir mourn His passing from the
land of the living to the land of the dead in a special week-long ritual
known most commonly as the "Osirian Mysteries."
Join our spiritual leader, Her Holiness Hekatawy I, in celebrating the
holiest days of our calendar. Mourn with Aset (Isis) and Nebt-het (Nephthys)
as Their brother is taken. Stand vigil at the funeral bier as He is
prepared for another life, and rejoice as He achieves transfiguration.
Through the Mysteries of Wesir, learn of your own transformations and
growth, and be whole again. This Mystery weekend will include ritual
as well as meditation and discussion of these most holy hours in the
Kemetic Orthodox Faith.
No
previous experience of Kemetic Orthodoxy or Egyptian religion/mythology
is necessary. Participants must be over 18 years of age or have prior
written permission from parents/legal guardians to attend (participants
under 12 cannot attend alone).
The
weekend begins Friday evening, November 28, and continues through Sunday,
November 30. Overnight accommodation is available on a limited, first-come
basis at Tawy House.
Tuition
for the weekend is $200 for Kemetic Orthodox Shemsu, Remetj and Probationers;
$250 for nonmember friends of the faith, and includes lodging at Tawy
House, meals and materials.
