Meeting the Netjeri (Guardian Spirits) II:
Advanced Workshop
A ritual workshop with Her Holiness Hekatawy I
(Nisut Tamara Siuda, AUS)
There
are many spirits in our universe. Some, the gods and the blessed dead,
are familiar to us. Others, such as the spirits of geographic places
like forests, rivers, and deserts; or the spirits who guard people and
families, or act as the "angels" and messengers of the gods,
may be less familiar. These spirits are called Netjeri
in Kemetic, meaning "holy ones."
Join Her Holiness and Rev. Donna Schaefer
(Imakhu Inibmutes), a priest of Aset (Isis) who specializes in heka
(Egyptian magic) and a descendant of a family line of Sicilian spirit
mediums, for a weekend of meditation, ritual and the opportunity to
get to know the Netjeri first-hand. Field trips to areas where geographic
Netjeri can be encountered, as well as ritual journeys on the Tawy House
grounds and in the shrine built at last year's Netjeri workshop, will
be used to facilitate the experience.
This
workshop is second in a series of Netjeri workshops and is an advanced
session based on concepts already covered in a previous session. Participants
should have attended the Netjeri I workshop in September 2002, or have
prior permission from Kai-Imakhu Inibmutes to register. Participants
must be over 18 years of age or have prior written permission from parents/legal
guardians to attend (participants under 12 cannot attend alone).
The
weekend begins Friday evening, October 17, and continues through Sunday,
October 19. Overnight accommodation is available on a limited, first-come
basis at Tawy House.
Tuition
for the weekend is $250 for Kemetic Orthodox Shemsu, Remetj and Probationers;
$300 for nonmember friends of the faith, and includes lodging at Tawy
House, meals and materials.
